Introduction
Fire Cape is popular amongst the players of OSRS, as it’s the most sought-after item in the game due to the stats that it offers. To obtain the cape, you need to defeat a legendary boss known as Tz-Tok-Jad. Before you take on this dreadful task, make sure that you have enough OSRS gold gathered to the level required to overcome the enemy waves.
Location
The beast and its minions will be waiting for you at the Tz-Haar Fight Caves. You can get there using an Amulet of Glory to teleport to Karamja. From there, you need to take a left to locate a volcano, and then use the rope that’ll lead your down. Once you find the cave’s entrance, you need to walk west until you see the bank icon on your map. That’ll be the entrance of the Fight Caves.
Requirement
Make sure that you have 70+ Ranged and 45+ Prayer & Defense before attempting. Grab about 2x Ranging Potions and 20x Super Restore Potions, along with a few Saradomin Brews and Purple Sweets.
The items that you carry will depend upon your character level. It also depends on the gold that you have acquired until now. The suggested method is to grab the best possible shield that you can afford at your Defense level, and have an Amulet of Glory in your possession. If you have to enhance your Ranged, you can equip an Amulet of Ranging instead, along with a piece of decent Ranged equipment.
It’s important to note where your Prayer level stands at this point. You can enhance the bonus by wearing Dragonhide armor, as it lowers the rate at which you lose your Prayer points. Lastly, the weapon of your choice should be a Rune Crossbow, combined with Ruby or Diamond Bolts.
The Fight
Once you’ve swamped your way through the waves of mobs, Tz-Tok-Jaz himself will approach. The boss uses a lethal mix of Magic and Ranged attacks, but as long as you have a good understanding of the cues, you should be okay. If you hear a crashing sound, that’s when he uses Ranged, and if you hear a sweeping sound, that’s when he uses Magic.
You also need to keep an eye out for the visual cues. When he leans back on his feet, he uses Ranged attacks, and when he leans his head back, he uses Magic. Make sure that you switch your Prayer appropriately or else one or two hits from him are enough to kill you.
At a later stage during the battle, Jad’s healers will spawn to help him out with his draining health. Switch your tactics and put your entire attention on killing them. You can AGGRO them on you so that they distract their focus from healing the boss. Besides that, keep an eye out for your health too.
Fire Cape
The reward for clearing several waves of mobs and defeating Tz-Tok-Jad within the Fight Caves is the Fire Cape. You can sacrifice the cape to gain access to the Inferno, equip it for enhanced combat stats, hand it on a Cape Hanger at your P.O.H, or sell it to Tz-Haar-Mej-Jal for a chance to obtain the Jad pet with your OSRS Fire Cape. You can also sell it for 8,000 Tokkul, which is the currency of the city..
