In this artile, we're going to continue the series on the potential issues that NBA 2K24 might face upon release. Now, before we get into it, I want to make it clear that this is just my opinion. We can agree to disagree and have a civil conversation. So, for those who disagree, don't bite my head off. This is just my take, and let's see if anyone agrees.
One thing I want to address right off the bat is the season rewards in NBA 2K24. Now, I'm not talking about the season pass, which I actually think was an excellent addition. I know many might disagree, but as a casual player, I find it enjoyable. My issue lies with the specific aspect of the season rewards, particularly the My Team rewards. Let me clarify, I have nothing against My Team mode itself. It has its purpose and caters to a specific audience. However, I believe that these My Team rewards shouldn't be part of the My Player/My Career mode.
In my opinion, these rewards should be replaced with VC (Virtual Currency). I understand that VC is a significant source of revenue for 2K, but hear me out. I'm not suggesting that these rewards should be worth millions of VC. Even a modest amount, such as 2,000 VC for reaching a certain level, would be a reasonable addition. Considering that most in-game purchases are cosmetic in nature, a few thousand VC wouldn't hurt 2K's profits.
I must acknowledge that 2K has done some things right with the season rewards. I appreciate the green releases, the season emotes packs, the double XP rewards, and the attribute cosmetics. They all add value and create a sense of progression. However, the My Team packs stand out as an odd inclusion. Why not replace them with VC? The My Team packs don't align with the My Player mode's focus, and they feel out of place. By replacing them with VC, players can have more control over their in-game purchases and progression.
A simple yet logical approach would be to match the amount of VC earned with the corresponding My Team level. For example, at the first level, players could receive 1,000 VC. Then, for every subsequent level, the VC reward could increase by 1,000. This way, at level 10, players would receive 10,000 VC. It shouldn't go beyond 4,000 or 5,000 VC, as the goal is to show appreciation to the fans rather than give away substantial amounts.
Completing the entire season pass should also come with a significant VC reward. For instance, reaching level 34 could grant players 4,000 VC, and completing the entire season rewards could give them an additional 5,000 VC. This would be a gesture of appreciation to the dedicated fans who invest their time and effort into the game.
Critics might argue that this could negatively impact 2K's revenue, but let's be honest—5000 VC doesn't guarantee much in terms of gameplay advantages. It's a reasonable reward that would enhance player satisfaction without undermining the financial aspect of the game. The current VC prices in NBA 2K are already quite steep, so giving players a chance to earn a bit more wouldn't hurt. NBA2king is the most professional and reliable NBA 2K24 MT trading platform.
