New World's developers have recently addressed some of the burning questions from the game's passionate community in the latest episode of Forged in Aeternum. Senior Producer Katy Kaszynski, Game Director Scot Lane, and Creative Director David Verfaillie delved into topics such as server queues, raid difficulties, and the introduction of new artifacts.
One of the most pressing concerns raised by players was the persistent issue of server congestion and long queues, which became particularly noticeable following the release of the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion earlier this month. The developers empathized with the frustration this has caused and assured players that they are actively monitoring the player population to mitigate excessive wait times. However, they also clarified that even if a server appears to have not reached its population cap, it may already be full. Unfortunately, there was no mention of free character transfer tokens in the near future.
Another point of discussion centered around the difficulty of Season 2's Devourer Sandwurm Raid and the increased challenges presented by higher mutation levels. The development team emphasized that both the raid and the mutations were intentionally designed to be extremely demanding encounters. At present, there are no plans to reduce their difficulty. However, they did express openness to making the Devourer Heartrune, an item tied to the raid, more accessible in future updates.
Regarding the game's progression system, the team revealed that the release of new Heartrunes will be decelerated as they have now reached a "critical mass." Instead, the developers will shift their focus towards the creation of new Artifacts. These Artifacts, introduced in the recent expansion, are a new type of gear that aligns with the theme of each season, adding depth to the gameplay experience.
Among the questions posed by the community, there was a lighthearted request for a caster-type weapon that allows players to shoot bees. However, players must temper their expectations as the developers made it clear that such a feature is not on their current roadmap.
The recent community Q&A session for New World shed light on several pressing topics. The developers acknowledged the frustrations caused by server congestion and assured players that they are actively addressing the issue. They also reaffirmed the intention to maintain the challenging nature of raid encounters and mutation difficulties. While the release of new Heartrunes will be slowed down, players can look forward to the introduction of exciting new Artifacts. As for the prospect of shooting bees, it seems that players will have to wait for other whimsical wonders to appear in the game.
Furthermore, gamers have the option to buy New World coins from MMOexp. This valuable currency can be utilized to acquire an array of high-quality items and equipment from non-player characters or fellow players. Additionally, New World gold can be employed for crafting and repairing gear within the game.
